Our 1st J-St regatta for 2005 was almost switched to Lake Hodges, but a low pressure brought some cooling inland and the Hodges projection was poor. J-St on!
Good choice. J-St blew 10-14 all day for some fun Formula racing.
Joining us from Finland was Lasse's friend Anders. Looking back to last Summer, Anders raced with us once at The Hilton and dominated. This time our Fleet wasn't such easy pickings the the likes of Devon and Joe topping the competitor list.
Still, Anders put up respectable performances on borrowed gear and managed a first in one of the races. No small feat as it's only the second time all year that Devon has not finished 1st in EVERY race. Good job Anders! (You too Devon).
Dave O seems to be finally getting dialed in with impressive speed and tactics. Besides a very impressive 2nd in Race 1, Dave was a solid 2nd in Race 2 as well before loosing a few minutes when missing a mark. Know your course!
Joe had solid races throughout and showed why he is one of SoCal's best when the wind is up, and Lasse continues to improve and is always towards the front.
Tuann and Dave B joined us at J-St as well. Dave was on unfamiliar borrowed gear that never seemed to get gell for him, while Tuann showed showed improvement in all aspects, especially down wind.
